The dictation competition is divided into two stages: the preliminary round and the final round. The preliminary round is divided into 20 groups, each with 5 people, who take turns to go on stage to dictate words. The time limit is 2.5 minutes. The number of correctly written words is ranked from high to low; if the number is the same, the one with the shorter time will win first.
After the on-site competition, three groups of students from Class 1, Group 4, Group 5 and Group 8, stood out and entered the finals.
In the final, students had to write correct Chinese characters according to the given radical groups. Each group randomly sent one person to take turns on stage and write Chinese characters within a limited time. They could not repeat or make mistakes, otherwise they would be eliminated. In the first round, three teams wrote Chinese characters with the radical "土". The fourth group of Class 1 was eliminated due to repeated writing. The remaining two teams wrote Chinese characters with the radical "米" to compete for the top spot. In the end, the first and second place were decided because of the wrong writing of the fifth group of Class 1, and the eighth group of Class 1 was crowned the champion.
