As a traditional major plastic product production province, Fujian Province has accelerated the upgrading and transformation of the plastic processing and manufacturing industry in recent years, further enhancing the competitiveness of plastic products and maintaining rapid export growth. According to statistics from Fuzhou Customs, in the first seven months of this year, Fujian Province exported a total of 29.34 billion yuan of plastic products, a year-on-year increase of 33%.
Private enterprises are the main force in the export of plastic products in Fujian Province. In the first seven months of this year, they exported plastic products worth 24.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.4%, accounting for 83.8% of the total value of Fujian Province's plastic product exports during the same period.
Countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative are the main export markets for Fujian's plastic products. In the first seven months of this year, Fujian's exports to countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative amounted to 15.66 billion yuan, up 54.4% year-on-year, accounting for 53.4% of Fujian's total plastic product exports during the same period.
The export categories of plastic products are rich, with small plastic sculptures, tableware and kitchen utensils, other household utensils and sanitary or toilet utensils ranking the top three, with exports of 3.82 billion, 2.64 billion and 2.43 billion yuan respectively, up 20.5%, 19.2% and 59.7% year-on-year respectively, accounting for 30.3% of the total export value of plastic products in Fujian Province during the same period.
