The Taliban took the initiative to build a road to the border, and they are only waiting for China to agree to open the Wakhan Corridor immediately. But before China agrees, the Taliban still has to fulfill its commitments such as anti-terrorism and prove that this corridor will not become a major threat to China's security.

Officials from the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of the Afghan Interim Government revealed that the preliminary construction work of a new highway with a total length of about 50 kilometers from the Buzai Gumbad area of Badakhshan Province in northeastern Afghanistan to the China-Afghanistan border has been completed.

Most people in Afghanistan support the completion of this highway, especially the Afghan business community. They generally believe that the completion of this highway will help the Taliban authorities open up the Wakhan Corridor trade route as soon as possible, allowing Afghanistan's minerals and other export commodities to be transported directly to China by land.

The Taliban authorities, despite the fact that the country was in a state of disrepair, still insisted on investing money and restarted the road construction work that the previous government had not completed in September last year, which in itself shows that the Taliban also hopes to open the Wakhan Corridor. Taliban officials have also made relevant suggestions to China more than once.
