Hong Yuanpeng has been a lifelong reader and researcher of Capital. To date, he has published more than 60 books on Marxist economic theory and more than 360 academic papers. He is known as a "Marxist economist who is both persistent and innovative." But Hong Yuanpeng always says, "I am just a primary school student of Marxism. I only have one thing to say - I am convinced that Capital is an encyclopedia of Marxism and that Marxism will last forever."

Hong Yuanpeng has served as the director of the Department of Economics and the dean of the School of Economics at Fudan University, a member of the National Social Science Fund discipline group, vice president of the China "Capital" Research Association, honorary president of the National Comprehensive University "Capital" Research Association, and distinguished researcher at the Institute of Marxism of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Hong Yuanpeng is a widely recognized representative of the "economic interest faction" in China, and is known as the earliest political economist to establish a theoretical system of social and economic interests. After years of ups and downs and the clamor of all people, Hong Yuanpeng believes that "my greatest achievement is to have quietly finished reading "Das Kapital."
