Hermès sincerely invites Japanese artist Teppei Kaneji to carefully create a new themed window display "The Tower of Fubao". Under the interpretation of Teppei Kaneji, the Hermès flagship store at 24 Avenue Faubourg Saint-Paul in Paris has been transformed into an "Infinite Tower", presenting its history of more than a century with creative artistic techniques. The 2024 theme "The Hermès Spirit from Fubao" has been transformed into a continuous source of imagination and creativity, transcending the dimensions of time and space, cultural context and value system, and weaving an adventure of art and creativity at the intersection of daily and extraordinary.

Artist Teppei Kaneji has lived in Kyoto for a long time. His works span the fields of sculpture, painting, and theatrical scenery. He uses common objects in life as his creative media and uses collage techniques to give ordinary things a new look.

Taking the "Tower" that runs through his personal creation as the prototype, Mr. Kaneji Teppei skillfully combines the comic characters in the two-dimensional world with the Hermès objects in the three-dimensional world, and constructs a wonderful tower that crosses the boundary between reality and illusion through sci-fi holes and windows. Comic characters from different periods and places carry the artist's personal story, shuttle through different floors of the "Fubao Tower", and freely interweave with Hermès objects, the brand's double H-shaped logo, and classic elements such as anchor chains. The collage of multiple elements is just like a building block game, settling on the intersection of liquid and solid, abstract and concrete, humor and seriousness, forming a sculptural art installation with various forms and rich connotations, showing the diverse aspects of "the Hermès spirit derived from Fubao". Mr. Kaneji Teppei's "Tower" series creation began in 2001, and later derived from painting to form animation and sculpture and other forms of artistic practice. Here, the tower becomes a highland of imagination, and the holes and windows connect the space inside and outside the tower. The collage elements are either embedded or protruding, leading the viewer's thoughts to the unknown and infinite.

Mr. Kaneji Teppei skillfully integrated the facade of the Hermès flagship store at 24 Avenue Faubourg Saint-Paul in Paris and the iconic red brick structure of the "Hermès House" in Shanghai into his window display creation. In this "Faubourg Saint-Paul Tower", viewers can transcend the limitations of time and space and embrace infinite possibilities.

The “Fubaoqita” autumn themed window display will be on display at the “Hermès House” in Shanghai until November 14.
