Hu Xuemei, female, Han nationality, born in August 1967, is a member of the Communist Party of China and a postgraduate student. She is currently the deputy secretary of the Jingdezhen Municipal Party Committee and mayor, and is expected to be appointed as the secretary of a prefecture-level municipal party committee.

Hu Xuemei is a doctor of law. She worked in Shangrao in her early years and served as director of the Economic Research Office of Shangrao Administrative Office (Municipal Government) and deputy mayor of Xinzhou District, Shangrao City.

In October 2002, Hu Xuemei was transferred to the Organization Department of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, where she served as deputy director (deputy director) of the Research Office (Policy and Regulations Department) and director of the Talent Work Department.

In February 2013, Hu Xuemei was transferred to the position of member of the Party Leadership Group of the Jiangxi Provincial Women's Federation, and one month later, she became vice chairman.

In July 2015, Hu Xuemei was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Ganzhou Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department. Two years later, she also served as Secretary of the Zhanggong District Committee of Ganzhou City. In 2019, Hu Xuemei was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Ganzhou Municipal Party Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor. In May 2021, Hu Xuemei took office as mayor of Jingdezhen.

Jingdezhen is a prefecture-level city in Jiangxi Province. It was born, prospered and named because of porcelain. In 2022, the city's gross regional product (GDP) reached 119.219 billion yuan.

During her tenure as mayor, Hu Xuemei once stated that she would vigorously promote the integration of ceramic culture and tourism industries, create a distinctive cultural and tourism brand, and make Jingdezhen a "poetry and distant place" in the hearts of more people.

In the past year, Jingdezhen, the "Millennium Porcelain Capital", has attracted many tourists from home and abroad. During the Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon, Jingdezhen received a total of 3.9314 million tourists, an increase of 74.66% compared with the Spring Festival in 2023.

During the two sessions this year, Hu Xuemei mentioned that the popularity of a number of Jingdezhen's top scenic spots, boutique routes, and cultural tourism IPs is mainly due to the fact that Jingdezhen has relied on its thousand-year-old ceramic cultural heritage in recent years to build a world-renowned ceramic cultural tourism destination, making the ancient ceramic culture timeless and charming. She said that Jingdezhen will vigorously create ceramic cultural animation, games, audio and video and other artistic masterpieces, and create more "national tide" products that reflect Chinese aesthetics, ceramic characteristics, and contemporary spirit, so that ceramic culture can be "trendy" with vitality and purchasing power.
