On August 21, the 2024 World Robot Conference opened in Beijing. According to the Economic Information Daily reporter, the latest news was learned from the opening ceremony of the conference.my country has become an important force in global robotics technological innovation, application expansion and industry governance, with more than 190,000 relevant valid patents, accounting for about two-thirds of the global total.
China has been the world's largest industrial robot market for 11 consecutive years. In the past three years, the newly installed capacity accounts for more than half of the world's total.
The latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that from January to July this year, the national output of industrial robots has exceeded 300,000 sets., with production increasing by 19.7% in July alone.
Marina Beer, President of the International Federation of Robotics, said:In recent years, China has made remarkable achievements in the field of robotics and has become the world's largest robot consumer market and production country.
With the continuous maturity and application of technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing, industrial robots are playing an increasingly important role in production and manufacturing, logistics and transportation, medical care and health care, and other fields. The emergence of industrial robots has not only improved production efficiency and reduced production costs, but also reduced labor intensity, improved product quality, and enhanced corporate competitiveness. Since the beginning of this year, the maturity of technologies such as artificial intelligence has further empowered industrial robots, enabling them to penetrate into more intelligent, refined, and flexible scenarios. Aerospace, implantable medical devices, pan-semiconductors, and laboratory testing have all become new market segments for industrial robots.
Domestic manufacturers are catching up quickly, and domestic substitution is accelerating
In recent years, with the rise of the localization wave, the market share of local brand robots has continued to increase and has occupied half of the market.
In the domestic industrial robot market, foreign brands such as FANUC, Epson, ABB and Yaskawa Electric still occupy an important position. However, after years of technological accumulation, the domestic industrial robot industry has gradually formed its own competitive advantages.Domestic manufacturers represented by Efort, Estun, Zhongweixing, Guangzhou Qifan, Siasun and Shida have now achieved a certain scale and technical strength, and the process of domestic substitution has accelerated.
Judging from the sales of domestic and foreign manufacturers in the industrial robot industry, in 2015, the sales of domestic manufacturers accounted for only about 30%.By 2023, domestic manufacturers' sales will account for more than half, surpassing foreign manufacturers' sales for the first time.
Industrial robot industry enterprises are concentrated in Guangdong and Jiangsu
From a regional perspective, the number of enterprises in Guangdong and Jiangsu is highly concentrated, while the industrial chain is relatively complete.
In terms of the distribution of representative enterprises, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other regions have representative enterprises in the industrial robot industry chain. For example, Guangdong Province has Huichuan Technology, Han's Precision Transmission, Guangzhou CNC, etc.; Jiangsu Province has Estun, Keyuan Group, Green Harmonic, etc.; Zhejiang Province has Shuanghuan Transmission, ASD, Zhejiang Qianjiang, etc.
Dongguan's industrial robot output ranks first in the country for three consecutive years
Since 2014, Dongguan has actively promoted the development of the robotics industry and established the Songshan Lake International Robotics Industry Base. Professor Li Zexiang's team from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology founded Dongguan Songshan Lake Robotics Industry Development Co., Ltd. to promote the development of Dongguan's robotics industry and established the Songshan Lake International Robotics Research Institute.Since 2015, the base has cooperated with Dongguan Institute of Technology, Guangdong University of Technology, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to build the Guangdong-Hong Kong Robotics Academy, adopting a project-based and subject-based school-running model. As of the end of August 2021, the Songshan Lake International Robotics Industry Base has incubated 80 entrepreneurial entities with a total output value of more than 3.5 billion yuan. In the entire Dongguan area, there are about 163 robot companies above a certain scale, and industrial robot R&D and production companies account for about 10% of the total number in the country.
In 2022, the output of industrial robots reached 165,700 units, accounting for 41.2% of the national output, an increase of 2.1% year-on-year, ranking first in the country for three consecutive years.
Qianzhan Industry Research Institute believes that in the future, as the technology in the mid- and low-end markets matures and competition becomes increasingly fierce, product prices will decline. In addition, in the mid-to-high-end market, with the breakthrough of domestic technology, domestic brands will also occupy more market share, and the export market also has great development prospects. It is expected that the overall market size will continue to grow. By 2029, the market size of China's industrial robot industry is expected to exceed 80 billion yuan.
