The People's Procuratorate of Handan City, Hebei Province, filed an indictment alleging that from January 2006 to before the Spring Festival of 2023, the defendant Hao Hongjun used the convenience of his positions as deputy mayor of Yingkou City, Liaoning Province, secretary of the Party Committee and director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, member of the Standing Committee of Fushun Municipal Party Committee and secretary of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection of Liaoning Province, member of the Standing Committee of Dalian Municipal Party Committee, secretary of the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and director of the Supervisory Commission of Liaoning Province, deputy secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and deputy director of the Supervisory Commission, and chairman of the Dalian CPPCC, as well as the convenience formed by his power or status, to facilitate relevant units and individuals inBank share purchase and transfer, project contracting, commodity sales, case handling, job promotionProvide assistance in matters such as providing assistance, and illegally accepting money and property directly or through others, totaling RMBMore than 74.98 million yuanThe procuratorate requested that Hao Hongjun be held criminally responsible for the crime of accepting bribes.
During the trial, the procuratorate presented relevant evidence, the defendant Hao Hongjun and his defense counsel conducted cross-examination, the prosecution and defense fully expressed their opinions under the auspices of the court, Hao Hongjun made a final statement, pleading guilty and expressing remorse in court. At the end of the trial, the court announced a recess and the verdict will be announced at a later date.
More than 40 people including NPC deputies, CPPCC members and people from all walks of life attended the trial.
