On the 21st, the 2024 Wind Wing World Cup Pingtan Station and the 2024 National Wind Wing Championship kicked off at the Pingtan International Sailing Training Base.
According to reports, this event includes four events: men's wind wing field race, women's wind wing field race, men's wind wing long distance race, and women's wind wing long distance race. More than 120 athletes from 15 teams from the United States, France, Australia and other countries, as well as Fujian, Hainan, Shandong and other places in China will participate in the event. The event will last until the 25th.
Pingtan has good natural conditions for the development of windsurfing. It is one of the earliest regions in my country to develop kite surfing and has hosted many national and international kite surfing competitions. In recent years, based on its rich tourism and ecological resources, the local area has explored the integrated development model of "sports + tourism", accelerated the creation of a "branded event vitality island", and enhanced the international recognition and reputation of Pingtan's city brand image. The Pingtan International Sailing Training Base, where the event is held, is a complex that includes a reception center, hotel, equipment warehouse, training base and other supporting facilities.
