A: Recently, in response to the incident of "Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Paris refusing to hang the Chinese flag" during the Olympic Games, the French Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China and the French Chinese Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export jointly invited representatives of the overseas Chinese community in France to hold a symposium and issued a statement. The French Chinese Travel Agency Association also issued a separate statement to express deep concern and strong condemnation. In the statement, the overseas Chinese community in France said that the behavior of the Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Paris not only seriously hurt the feelings of the majority of overseas Chinese, but also directly offended the dignity of China. More than 50 heads of overseas Chinese groups also signed on the signature wall to jointly express their strong dissatisfaction with the incident and their firm protection of national dignity.
