According to reports, in 2021, the school formed the Little Zhuge Innovation Youth Team to bring together students who love science and technology and are willing to explore. Today, the six innovative teenagers are all between 15 and 16 years old. It is understood that the 2024 "Intellectual Property Lights up the Future and Finds Hubei Innovative Youth Team" event is jointly organized by the Hubei Provincial Intellectual Property Office and Jimu News, aiming to further cultivate the innovative spirit and intellectual property awareness of primary and secondary school students, solidly promote intellectual property education in primary and secondary schools, and provide basic support for the cultivation of innovative talents. Since the launch of the event, more than 80 schools have recommended nearly 100 outstanding teams. After online voting, expert review and other links, 10 Hubei Innovative Youth Teams were finally evaluated.

The Xiangyang Zhuge Liang Middle School Education Group takes "educating students with wisdom and creating a colorful life" as its school philosophy and takes technological innovation as its school feature. Up to now, the total number of student invention applications has reached more than 6,800, and the number of patent authorizations has reached 849, ranking among the top primary and secondary schools in the province and the first in the city. The school has been awarded more than 100 honorary titles such as "National Intellectual Property Education Pilot School", "National Innovative School", "Hubei Provincial Digital Campus Demonstration School", and "Hubei Science Demonstration School".
