According to the Red Star Capital Bureau on August 21, today, Great Wall Motor (601633.SH) official Weibo released "Explanation on Announcement No. 009 of the Southern Power Grid Supply Chain Platform".
The "Explanation" stated that in the November 2022 tender, Great Wall Motors won the bid for 35 Tank 500 models. Due to negligence in the vehicle delivery process, there was a difference between the delivery and the subject matter. "After discovering the problem, after confirmation with the State Grid Corporation of China, our company has compensated for the difference and sincerely apologized for the inconvenience caused to the State Grid Corporation of China."

Recently, the China Southern Power Grid Supply Chain Unified Service Platform issued a supplier processing announcement (No.: [2024] 009), which mentioned that Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd. was listed as a "supplier not accepted for bidding" by the China Southern Power Grid due to "the supplier's major breach of trust and adverse impact". The processing period is 24 months.
On August 20, the news that Great Wall Motors was “blacklisted” by China Southern Power Grid sparked heated discussions. That evening, the Shanghai Stock Exchange issued a regulatory work letter on public opinion-related matters regarding Great Wall Motors, involving listed companies, directors, supervisors, and senior management personnel.
In addition to Great Wall Motors, about 78 other companies and five individuals were publicly listed by the State Grid Corporation of China for "violating integrity commitments", "collusive bidding", "fraudulent bidding/procurement documents", etc., and were listed as "banned from the market" and "not accepted for bidding", with a processing period ranging from 2 months to 24 months. Guangdong Second People's Hospital, Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Hohai University, and TBEA (600089.SH) (Hunan) Energy Construction Co., Ltd. are also among them.
According to the "China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. Supplier Dishonesty Point Deduction Management Rules", points will be deducted from suppliers for dishonest behaviors in terms of integrity, performance, safety, quality, etc. from registration to exit from the Southern Power Grid market. Suppliers with cumulative effective points deduction of 12 points will be subject to the treatment measure of not accepting bids; suppliers who are banned from the market or are not accepted for bidding due to bribery or suspected bribery will be included in the blacklist management. The deduction standards and processing period are based on the "Southern Power Grid Company Supplier Point Deduction Clauses". If the responsible supplier has objections to the deduction, it can file an appeal application within the appeal period (7 natural days after receiving the deduction notice). If there is still objection to the appeal review result, it can submit a reconsideration application within the reconsideration period (7 natural days after receiving the appeal review result) and upload the corresponding supporting materials.
In 2019, China Southern Power Grid joined the "Eura Super Charging Alliance" under Great Wall Motors as one of the first members. The last time Great Wall Motors participated in and won a tender for a company under China Southern Power Grid was in November 2022. According to the "Announcement on the Results of the Framework Procurement (Third Procurement) of General Vehicles (First Batch) of China Southern Power Grid Electric Vehicle Service Co., Ltd. for 2022-2024", China Southern Power Grid Automobile Co., Ltd. successfully purchased a fuel-powered four-wheel drive SUV under Great Wall Motors.
