On August 20, the Xinjiang Energy Storage Industry Development Strategic Planning and Terminal Application Research Outline (abbreviated as: Outline) Special Research Plan and the 15th Low-Carbon Economy Xinjiang Energy Storage Industry Seminar and 2024 Xinjiang Energy Storage Exhibition (abbreviated as: Low-Carbon Seminar Energy Storage Exhibition) Preparatory Work Seminar and Press Conference were held in Urumqi. The meeting was organized by the Organizing Committee of the Xinjiang Academic Seminar on Low-Carbon Economy Technology. Reporters learned at the meeting that the 15th Low-Carbon Economy Xinjiang Energy Storage Industry Seminar and 2024 Xinjiang Energy Storage Exhibition will be held at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Urumqi from October 11 to 13, 2024.
It is understood that the theme of this low-carbon research and energy storage exhibition is "Green and Low-Carbon, Energy Storage First".
The Low Carbon Economy Seminar is a key academic exchange activity project of the Autonomous Region Party Committee and Government's "100 Meetings and 10,000 People Going to the Grassroots". It is an important window and platform for Party Committees and Governments at all levels to conduct academic exchanges on energy conservation and emission reduction at home and abroad, and is held once a year. Since the first seminar was unveiled by the main leaders of the Autonomous Region in 2010, it has made positive contributions to the innovation and progress of energy conservation and emission reduction in Xinjiang, played an important role in promoting it, introduced dozens of new technologies, and signed technology investment contracts worth nearly 30 billion yuan. The most representative achievement is the "Xinjiang Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Blue Book".
As an important energy production base in my country, Xinjiang ranks among the top in China in terms of solar and wind energy resources. According to statistics from the National Renewable Energy Information Center, in the first half of the year, Xinjiang's new energy installed capacity was 14.08 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 103%, including 4.28 million kilowatts of wind power and 9.8 million kilowatts of solar power. Xinjiang's new energy installed capacity accounts for more than 10% of the national total, and the scale of new grid-connected capacity ranks first in the country.
Zhou Bin, president of Xinjiang Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Research Institute, said that Xinjiang has a huge space market and a trillion-level energy storage space market. Our (annual average) photovoltaic sunshine (hours) is 2730, while the best place in the country is only 1200 (hours). Xinjiang's energy storage market space is particularly large. Secondly, the implementation of Xinjiang's eight major industrial clusters and the cooperation between regions and prefectures and regions are also being actively promoted.
Xinjiang is my country's strategic energy security area, and the development of new energy has a huge energy storage market space of trillions of yuan. This conference will promote the development of Xinjiang's energy storage industry and the green transformation of the new energy industry structure through academic discussions, combined with energy storage technology exchanges, and intensive cutting-edge disciplinary resources, accelerate the construction of infrastructure for Xinjiang's energy storage industry, and help our region achieve energy conservation and carbon reduction and high-quality economic and social development.
In the future, relevant departments in Xinjiang will increase the integration of technologies such as big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence to broaden energy storage application scenarios, promote the research and application of key technologies in the fields of multifunctional reuse of energy storage and cloud energy storage, and expand the new energy consumption market through multiple channels. In addition, the meeting studied and approved the organization and implementation of the special research on the "Outline" and the results transformation plan and the preparatory work plan report for the low-carbon discussion and energy storage exhibition issued by Zhou Bin, the chief expert on energy conservation and emission reduction.
