Gilbert Arenas explains why LeBron James will never be Michael Jordan, and it makes sense.

Gilbert Arenas mentioned Skip Bayless when discussing the differences between Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas spoke on his own show about media attention and the different reactions between Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. In order to distinguish between the two and how they are perceived by the media, Arenas mentioned Skip Bayless, the long-time host of the show who is known for his endless criticism of James.

Arenas said that Bayless' negative comments about James over the years would be intolerable if he were to make the same comments about Jordan. He further stated that if Bayless criticized Jordan in the same way, he would lose his job within a month and expressed this view in language that was not appropriate for use in the workplace.

"Because the media we have today didn't exist back then, right? You couldn't just drop Michael Jordan's name or you'd lose your ass," Arenas said of the difference. "What Skip Bayless did to LeBron, if it was Michael, he wouldn't have a job a month later, right? You said bad things about Michael Jordan, Jordan this, Jordan that, and your ass would be out of a job, right? That doesn't exist now."
