The Founding Ceremony

"The Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China has been established today!"

On October 1, 1949, Mao Zedong stood on the Tiananmen Gate Tower and solemnly announced to the world the establishment of the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China. Since then, the whole world has known a resounding name: the People's Republic of China.

In 1989, the film "The Founding Ceremony" was released nationwide, recreating the historical moment of the founding of the People's Republic of China. This film was shot by Changchun Film Studio as a tribute to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The film uses a documentary approach to show the magnificent historical scroll of the Communist Party of China from the victory of the three major battles of Liaoshen, Huaihai and Pingjin to the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China held in Beijing on October 1, 1949, and interspersed with precious documentary materials shot on the battlefield, allowing the audience to feel the history in real pictures.

At 3 pm on October 1, 1949, a ceremony to celebrate the founding of the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China was held in Tiananmen Square, Beijing. Mao Zedong announced the establishment of the Central People's Government, followed by a grand military parade and mass parade. People were enthusiastic, singing and dancing, and the movie "The Founding Ceremony" also reproduced this grand scene of 300,000 soldiers and civilians in the capital solemnly holding the founding ceremony. The founding of the People's Republic of China achieved a great leap from thousands of years of feudal autocratic politics to people's democracy in China, and the development and progress of the Chinese nation has since opened a new era.

"Long live the People's Republic of China!" "Long live Chairman Mao!"

At the climax of the film, Mao Zedong shouted "Long live the people" on the Tiananmen Gate Tower and waved to the cheering crowd. When the fireworks shot appeared on the screen, many shots of soldiers charging on the battlefield slowly falling down were superimposed, allowing the audience to truly feel that the new China was exchanged for the lives of countless martyrs!

"The Founding Ceremony" caused a sensation after its release. While reaping good box office and reputation, it also won many awards including the Best Feature Film Award at the 10th China Film Golden Rooster Awards and the Best Feature Film Award at the 13th Popular Film Hundred Flowers Awards.

In 2019, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, the 4K restored version of "The Founding Ceremony of the Nation" was released nationwide. Technology has given the classics new brilliance, and light and shadow have brought everyone back to the shock of history.

"Long live the people...Long live the people...Long live the people...Long live the people..."

Watching "The Founding of a Nation" again after many years, the audience can still feel the strong shock and the power of faith. The great moment of the founding of New China will be forever engraved in the collective memory of the Chinese nation, and "The Founding of a Nation" has become a part of this collective memory with its unique charm of film art!
