A series of promotional images for the iPhone 16 have leaked, shedding light on Apple's 2024 flagship smartphone. As the time gets closer to Apple's September event, rumors are starting to include leaks of marketing materials. In a post on X, a leaker claims that this has already happened with the iPhone 16 series.

The four images released by Lakhwinder Singh on Saturday appear to be marketing material for China, judging by the poster visible in one of them.

The first image is a brief spec sheet for the iPhone 16, showing a vertically arranged camera. It is said to be equipped with a 6.1-inch display, an aluminum alloy and glass body, an operation button on the side, and even a price of 5999 yuan. It is said to also include a 48-megapixel camera for shooting videos for Apple Vision Pro, as well as an A18 chip and USB-C connection.

Another image showing the back of the iPhone 16 Pro highlights the 48-megapixel resolution sensor built into its ultra-wide-angle camera. In addition, the quad-prism lens layout and the A18 Pro chip's capabilities in computational photography are mentioned.

The other two images show a collection of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 in various colors.

The leak appears to be typical Apple online marketing material, but its authenticity cannot be guaranteed. It is still a few weeks before Apple launches its new models, and Apple takes the confidentiality of its hardware, such as the iPhone, very seriously.

While many of the specs mentioned seem credible and have appeared in earlier rumors, this doesn’t mean the images are real. Anyone who can pull some iPhone renders from previous reports can create their own marketing materials and pass them off as real.

Additionally, leakers don't really have an accurate track record when it comes to Apple products. If there was a history, the images would have more provenance. As always, there's no guarantee that rumors or leaks are true until Apple officially releases a new product.
