Apple is preparing for the possible launch of the iPhone 16 series on September 10, and while people are anxiously waiting to pre-order one of the four devices or queuing up in long lines around the world to get their hands on the latest product, a survey reveals the other side of the coin. The survey asked 766 participants what the biggest reason was for not upgrading to the iPhone 16 when it is launched later this year, and the majority of them saidCan't afford

An in-depth survey conducted by SellCell reveals the reasons why users are willing or unwilling to upgrade to the new iPhone 16 model. We scrolled down to the section discussing the reasons why people will not upgrade this year. Among the 766 respondents, 34.2% said they can't afford it. The second largest reason for not upgrading is that 34.1% of respondents said they will keep the old model. Most of these users still have iPhone 13 or even iPhone 12, and they still work perfectly when performing the basic tasks that a smartphone should have. There seems to be no reason to upgrade.

As for the third reason why users don’t upgrade, 12.8% of survey participants answered that they are still within the carrier contract period. Interestingly, 5.5% of people said that the features and specifications of the new iPhones are always almost the same every year, and they have long been aesthetically fatigued.

Normally, it is a good practice for consumers to stick to the 2-year upgrade cycle, because this allows them to buy better hardware and features at one time after 24 months, thus getting a better value for money. A minority of people, accounting for 3.3% of the total respondents, believe that the iPhone 16 is not worth upgrading this year, and they claim that they would rather wait for the iPhone 17.

Apple is reportedly targeting 90 million units for this year’s upcoming models, as the company is likely anticipating high demand for its new product line. Of course, there are various reasons why users would want to upgrade their new devices, and if you want to know why, click on the survey source link below:
