Experts suggest Shanghai's new quality productivity development: build soft power and become a highland of original innovation

On August 15, the 2024 New Quality Productivity Conference hosted by The Paper’s “New Engine” Weekly was held in Shanghai. The theme of the conference was “New Reforms, New Momentum: Crossing the Cycle”.

Jia Kang, founding president of the Huaxia New Supply-side Economics Research Institute and researcher at the Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences, Li Xiaochao, vice president of the China Economic System Reform Research Association and former deputy director of the National Bureau of Statistics, Liu Shouying, dean of the School of Economics at Renmin University of China, and Wu Sa, deputy director of the Institute of Economics at the Chinese Academy of Macroeconomics, delivered keynote speeches at the conference. Wu Shijun, director, deputy general manager and secretary of the board of directors of Aier Eye Hospital, Xie Jia, director and senior vice president of Fengfei Aviation Technology Group, and Dong Jinyi, product director of the National and Local Co-construction Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, held a roundtable discussion on the application of new quality productivity in the fields of medical care, low-altitude economy and humanoid robots. Hundreds of guests from government, business and academia attended the conference.

At the conference that day, the guests put forward a series of suggestions on how Shanghai can develop new quality productivity from the perspectives of financial support, innovation entities, talent support, and business environment.
