The Chinese sports delegation has completed all preparations for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games and will soon set off for Paris. On August 19, the China Disabled Persons' Federation held a media briefing for the Paris Paralympic Games. At the meeting, Cheng Kai, chairman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation and head of the Chinese sports delegation to the Paris Paralympic Games, said so.

The 17th Paralympic Games will be held in Paris, France from August 28 to September 8. On the afternoon of August 16, the Chinese sports delegation was established in Beijing. The total number of the delegation is 516, including 284 athletes (126 male athletes and 158 female athletes), who will participate in 19 major events and 302 minor events such as archery, track and field, badminton, and boccia.
"The Paralympics is not only a stage for athletes to surpass themselves through sports competition, but also a stage for strengthening cultural exchanges and mutual learning and promoting diversity and integration," said Cheng Kai. "With the momentum of the Paris Paralympics, the Chinese sports delegation will better promote Chinese culture in Paris."
During this Paralympic Games, an exhibition and performance event called "Beautiful Workshop Blooming in Paris" will be held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Paris.
"Beauty Workshop" is a project jointly initiated by the China Disabled Persons' Federation, the All-China Women's Federation and other organizations to increase employment and income for women with disabilities. The project plans to launch 100 "Beauty Workshops" during the "14th Five-Year Plan" through layer-by-layer cultivation, recommendation and selection, and radiate to drive employment and income increase for more than 10,000 women with disabilities. In 2022-2023, 55 institutions including Beijing Tangrenfang were selected as the first batch of "Beauty Workshops" in the country.
"Through the exhibition and performance activities of the 'Beauty Workshop', we hope to tell the world the stories of China and China's excellent traditional culture outside the Paris Paralympic Games," said Cheng Kai.
Since participating in the 7th Paralympic Summer Games in New York, the United States in 1984, the Chinese sports delegation has participated in 11 consecutive Paralympic Games. Among them, since the 12th Paralympic Summer Games in Athens, Greece in 2004, it has topped the gold medal list for five consecutive times. The most gold medals were won at the 15th Paralympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2016, with 107 gold medals; followed by 96 gold medals at the 16th Paralympic Summer Games in Tokyo, Japan in 2021, and 95 gold medals at the 14th Paralympic Summer Games in London, the United Kingdom in 2012.
