On August 19, a reporter from Beijing News Shell Finance learned that the HICOOL 2024 Global Entrepreneurs Summit will open on August 23 at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Pavilion).

This year marks the fifth consecutive year of the HICOOL Summit. Over the past five years, HICOOL has attracted 32,000 entrepreneurial talents and 24,000 entrepreneurial projects from 145 countries and regions around the world, and has produced 16 "unicorn" companies and 127 "specialized and innovative" companies. The implementation rate of the winning projects has reached 70%, and the new financing amount after the competition has exceeded 36 billion yuan.

This year's summit global entrepreneurship competition attracted a total of 7,406 projects

This year's HICOOL Summit is themed "New Quality Leading Innovation and Integration", closely adhering to the main line of "entrepreneur-centered" to gather momentum and empower, building a "six-in-one" ecosystem of "competition" selection, "steward" service, "business school" acceleration, "industrial park" landing, "fund" empowerment, and "digital platform" docking. It is rooted in Beijing's innovation system and creates a global entrepreneurial talent "carnival".

This year, the HICOOL Global Entrepreneurship Competition attracted 7,406 entrepreneurial projects and 9,700 entrepreneurial talents from 124 countries and regions to sign up for the competition. The number of entrepreneurial projects and entrepreneurial talents reached a record high. Among them, there were 4,683 overseas projects, accounting for 63% of the total number of registered projects; 3,209 foreign talents, accounting for 33% of the total number of registered people. There were 1,543 graduates from the top 30 universities in the QS World University Rankings, including world-class universities such as MIT, Cambridge University, Oxford University, Harvard University, Peking University, and Tsinghua University.

The competition has seven tracks, including new generation information technology, high-end equipment, and medical health. In order to gather more innovative talents and tap more industry elites, the number of award-winning seats in this year's competition has increased from 140 to 200, an increase of 43%. Among them, the number of award-winning project seats in the overseas group has increased from 100 to 140, and the number of award-winning project seats in the local group has increased from 40 to 60. There are 12 first prizes, 36 second prizes, 68 third prizes, and 84 winning prizes.

Compared with last year, the international influence of this summit has been further enhanced. In 2024, HICOOL has 161 global partners. This summit further aggregates international innovation resources. High-quality science and technology innovation companies from countries such as Germany, Australia, and France set up exhibitions. International companies such as Merck and Airbus participated in the exhibition. Various international activities such as the International Agricultural Products Trade and Cross-border Agricultural Investment Forum, the China-Germany Cooperation Forum, the Australian Innovation Ecosystem and China-Australia Enterprise Market Development Exchange Meeting, the Overseas Forum, and the International Talent Recruitment Fair were particularly eye-catching.

At the same time, the level of guests at the summit has been further upgraded. The opening ceremony and award ceremony of the HICOOL Summit is the highlight of this summit.
