The 2024 National Fitness Day and the 20th Guangzhou Sports Festival "Pearl of the Flower City·Tracing the Clouds" Youth Radio Direction Finding Challenge with the theme of "National Fitness and the Olympics Go Hand in Hand" and "Sports Support the 'Hundreds of Millions of Projects'·Welcome the 15th National Games and the Paralympic Games" was held in Yuntai Garden, Guangzhou a few days ago. A total of more than 100 radio direction finding enthusiasts participated in the competition.
At the competition site, contestants held radio direction-finding equipment and shuttled through every corner of Yuntai Garden. They quickly located and found the hidden target based on the weak signal from the radio station. The exciting search process, a double test of wisdom and physical strength, made every participant immersed in it and enjoyed the fun of sports. After fierce competition, many outstanding players stood out and won honorary awards of this challenge.
Huang Zhimeng, 8, was a little shy when sharing his experience: "This competition taught me to find directions faster, which was very interesting. When distinguishing between real and fake stations, you just need to turn down the volume and get closer, and you can easily distinguish them."
"Radio direction finding is a sport that combines technology and sports. It can train children's ability to shuttle, as well as their physical fitness and competitive ability. The Paris Olympics just closed, and through this competition, we can cultivate children's sportsmanship and the spirit of perseverance and never giving up," Huang Zhimeng's mother added.
It is worth mentioning that radio direction finding has become one of the events of the National Games again after 32 years. This news not only makes countless radio direction finding enthusiasts excited, but also marks a solid step forward in the development of my country's sports industry on the road of diversification and technological development.
The competition is sponsored by Guangzhou Sports Bureau and Guangzhou Sports Federation, hosted by Guangzhou Radio Association and Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain Yuntai Scenic Area Management Center, and co-organized by Guangzhou Sports Lottery Management Center and others.
