The two armies of Chu and Han confronted each other, and the black and white worlds competed with each other in wits. On August 16, the chess competition of the 12th Zhengzhou Sports Games for young people was held at the Yiming Hall of Zhongbo Furniture Center. More than 100 young chess players from 14 teams from all counties (cities) and districts in the city gathered together to compete with each other in chess and go, setting off a wonderful "wisdom boom".
The chess competition for the youth group of the 12th Municipal Games includes chess team competition and individual competition. There are four events in the Go team competition and individual competition, which are divided into two major groups: county (city) and urban. According to the age of the contestants, there are three age groups: Group A (junior high school students in Zhengzhou), Group B (primary school students in grades 4-6 in Zhengzhou), and Group C (primary school students in grades 1-3 in Zhengzhou). The county (city) division of the chess event will be held from August 16 to August 17, and the urban division will be held from August 19 to August 20; the Go event only has the urban division, which will be held from August 22 to August 24.
The first competition on August 16 was the county (city) competition of the chess event in the youth group of this city games. A total of 30 young chess players from six teams in Xingyang, Xinmi, Gongyi, Xinzheng, Zhongmu and Dengfeng participated in the competition. The young chess players exchanged chess skills on the field and communicated off the field, enjoying the joy of participating in intellectual sports.
In recent years, the popularity of chess among young people has continued to rise, becoming a popular intellectual activity that not only enriches the extracurricular life of young people, but also subtly promotes the comprehensive development of logical thinking, strategic planning and psychological quality. Through chess exchanges, players have trained their thinking, cultivated patience and strategic vision, and attracted more people to pay attention to chess and fall in love with it.
"On the chessboard, young people have learned to think independently and analyze calmly, which has played a positive role in the inheritance and promotion of this sport. At the same time, this hobby can help children benefit in the long run. When they grow up and go to college and work, they can face difficulties calmly and respond positively, which is also a valuable quality cultivated by chess." said Mu Baolin, the person in charge of the competition.
