The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism recently held the "Beijing under the Moonlight - Moonlight Cycling Season" event, launching ten Beijing-style cycling routes on site to guide citizens and tourists to experience the diverse charm of Beijing according to their preferences and needs. In addition, the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism recently issued the "Capital Cycling Civilization Convention", which proposed initiatives in seven aspects, including preparations before cycling, rules, routes, etc., to provide guidelines for cycling enthusiasts to travel safely.
Cycling activities as a medium
Witness the booming night economy in the capital
Beijing Youth Daily reporters learned that the "Beijing under the Moonlight - Moonlight Cycling Season" event uses cycling as a medium to deeply explore and showcase the unique charm of Beijing's nighttime cultural tourism.
The activity has two cycling routes. Cycling enthusiasts set out from the Bell and Drum Tower Cultural Square in Dongcheng District, and traveled through the streets and alleys in a group to explore the charm of the Hutong. This cycling route not only connects key cultural landmarks such as the Bell and Drum Tower, Lama Temple, Imperial College, and Wen Tianxiang Temple, but also covers the capital's characteristic nighttime cultural tourism consumption gathering places such as Guijie, Shichahai, and Gulou East Street, fully reflecting the characteristics and style of Beijing's Hutongs, which are "crisscrossed".
Another group of cycling routes has theme-related cultural displays or interactive experiences along the way. Cycling enthusiasts can collect stamps at the Beijing Central Axis Theme Post Office at Hong'en Temple, experience Peking Opera interaction at Dianjiangchun Coffee Shop (Gulou Branch), and experience guqin, tea art, and button making at Meihousishi. There are also many cultural and tourism feature spots such as Peking University Red Building, Guijie Street, Yuge Hutong, and Confucius Temple, which give cycling enthusiasts a full sense of participation.
