The cumulative online power generation of Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station exceeded 300 billion kWh
Reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 253.33 million tons, equivalent to planting about 690,000 hectares of trees
According to the latest information released by China General Nuclear Power Company Limited, as of June 30, 2024, the total grid-connected power generation of Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station will be 307.4 billion kWh, which is equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by approximately 92.44 million tons and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 253.33 million tons, which is equivalent to afforestation of approximately 690,000 hectares.
Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station is located in Hongyanhe Town, Wafangdian City, Dalian. It is the first nuclear power station in Northeast my country. It has 6 million-kilowatt pressurized water reactor nuclear power units with a total installed capacity of 6.71 million kilowatts, an annual power generation capacity of 48 billion kilowatt-hours, and an overall equipment localization rate of 80%.
Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant started construction in August 2007. The four units of the first phase project adopted CPR1000 nuclear power technology and were all put into commercial operation in September 2016. The second phase project (units 5 and 6) started construction in 2015, using ACPR1000 nuclear power technology and possessing the characteristics of third-generation nuclear power technology. On June 23, 2022, Unit 6 of Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant was put into commercial operation, marking the full completion and commissioning of the project.
