Beijing tourism is very popular this summer. When visiting Beijing, you must visit the hutongs. As one of the most famous hutongs in Beijing, Shijia Hutong has the reputation of "one hutong, half of China". Why is this? Let's go to the Shijia Hutong Museum to find out.
The Shijia Hutong Museum is located at No. 24 Shijia Hutong. It has 8 exhibition halls and 1 multi-functional hall, which reproduce the hutong life of the past through a variety of exhibits.
Courtyard No. 24 was originally the former residence of Ling Shuhua, a talented woman in the Republic of China. Her father, Ling Fupeng, was from Guangdong. He was a Jinshi in the late Guangxu period and served as a first-rank official. Courtyard No. 24 was the dowry Ling Fupeng gave to Ling Shuhua. Influenced by her father, Ling Shuhua also liked calligraphy and painting and often entertained guests here. Chen Shizeng, Qi Baishi and many other masters were frequent guests. The great Indian writer Rabindranath Tagore also left his calligraphy here for Ling Shuhua. Therefore, Courtyard No. 24, Shijia Hutong, is also known as "Miss's Study".
