From July to August, more than 40 college students from Qingdao University of Technology went to Zuojiujia Township and Xinfang Township, Nayong County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, to carry out a 21-day teaching activity. This group of loving college students came from the "Seed Teaching Group" of Qingdao University of Technology, which has been going to remote mountainous areas in Guizhou for twelve consecutive years, sowing seeds of hope for nearly 5,000 children, and illuminating the "road of hope" for children with the responsibility of youth and youth.
During the summer of 2024, the "Seed Teaching Team" of Qingdao University of Technology, a national college student rural revitalization volunteer service project of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, set out on the journey again. More than 40 college students went to Zuojiujia Township and Xinfang Township, Nayong County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, and started a 21-day teaching activity on July 12.
In order to fully understand the local education status and the family situation of students and make the teaching activities more targeted and effective, the team members visited the families of some children. "What do children like to do at home?" "Who are the family members? How are their work situations?" "What is the biggest challenge for children in learning?" During the visit, the volunteers' meticulous questions not only captured the details of the children's daily lives, but also deeply felt the stories and difficulties behind each family. The parents of Lu Yiyang, a local student, could not hide their gratitude: "The teachers of the teaching team are so great! They not only patiently teach children to learn new knowledge, but also care about our family situation, bringing the children a fulfilling and meaningful summer vacation. We are really grateful to them." These words are not only an affirmation of the hard work of the volunteers, but also more determined to bring knowledge and hope to the children and help them grow and become talents.
The team designed a new curriculum system covering science, history, and geography based on the children's school age characteristics. In particular, in terms of scientific and technological innovation, the team introduced cutting-edge knowledge courses such as aviation, 3D printing, robotics, and programming, which greatly broadened the children's horizons and stimulated their interest in learning. "I want to study hard and get into my ideal university like these older brothers and sisters!" said Zhang Xunqi, a fifth-grade student at Xinfang Township Central Primary School. In addition to imparting knowledge, the "Seed Teaching Group" also focuses on the all-round development of children, and carries out a series of colorful extracurricular activities such as fun sports games, outdoor patriotic education, and art performances, so that learning is not limited to book knowledge.
