Zhoushan, with its 2,085 islands, is known as the "City of a Thousand Islands". It has scenic spots such as Putuo Mountain and Shengsi, which constitute the unique mountain and sea scenery of the "City of a Thousand Islands".
Since the first Cross-Strait College Students' Film and Television Culture Festival and Short Video Competition was held in 2023, the event has attracted the attention of many college students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
This year's short video competition was themed "Meeting Beauty Across the Straits", and received more than 100 creative and well-made short video works from college students on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The entries covered a wide range of topics and outstanding creativity, covering youth inspiration, cultural heritage, natural scenery and other fields, fully demonstrating the creative wisdom and artistic talent of college students on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

"Coming here with my classmates and experiencing Zhoushan's marine culture firsthand has created a great platform for young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to carry out film and television cultural cooperation and exchanges," said Tian Shilun, a teacher from Taiwan's Hsiu-ping University of Science and Technology.
"The village is very modern, and there are beautiful scenes everywhere. In particular, there are many cafes here, which surprised me." The event was hosted by Zhoushan Cross-Strait Exchange Association and Zhoushan Federation of Literary and Art Circles. According to the organizers of the competition, college students from both sides of the strait came together because of the short video competition and gathered in beautiful Zhoushan. They used the camera to capture the traces of life, expressed their inner feelings with their works, spread the magnificent beauty of mountains and seas with the help of light and shadow art, and promoted spiritual harmony through cultural exchanges, providing a unique perspective for the all-round display of Zhoushan.
In this competition, "Facing the Dawn" selected by Taiwan's Hsiu-Ping University of Science and Technology and "Home at the End of the Land" selected by Zhejiang Ocean University won the Best Work Award. Three works selected by Taiwan's I-Shou University, Zhejiang Media College, and Zhejiang International Maritime Vocational and Technical College won the Outstanding Work Award.
