Sneak, then move forward

Perhaps, on the other side of the mountain, in some unknown place, there is also such a group of children, surrounded by mountains, hanging out with each other, talking and laughing, running freely under the reflection of the sunset - this is the childhood we imagine, and it is also the childhood we have seen with our own eyes.

When I first told my friend about my idea of volunteer teaching, he joked, "It's just for extra study hours and comprehensive test scores." At that time, I subconsciously refuted that if that was the case, why did I come here to "suffer"? The effort and reward were not equal at all. Besides, I chose to volunteer to teach in the mountains of Guizhou, the farthest and most "difficult" place from home. Time flies, and the two-week volunteer teaching life has become a thing of the past. Back in Suzhou, my home in the big city, it was plain but with a little reluctance, as if the days just passed, and no one mentioned it and it was over. If we really want to talk about "changes", there are still some: I have gained the friendship of 18 partners, and I have seen the unique scenery of the mountainous areas of Guizhou. My mood has become much calmer, and I can enjoy a cool breeze in this hot summer. But I think, in that small Cenmang Village, the only open space on the top of the mountain, our teaching site next to the village committee, and in the hearts of more than 50 children - their impression of "us" will not disappear so quickly. Perhaps, in the long years, they will always remember this encounter with us, as if they are no longer alone on the road ahead.
