August 18 is the traditional festival of the Ghost Festival. During the festival, there are more paper burning and sacrificial activities. In order to avoid fire accidents caused by paper burning, the Daxing District Fire Rescue Detachment of Beijing actively carried out fire safety night inspections, and mobilized the community defense and control forces of various streets and towns to stand guard and patrol at intersections and carry out service guarantee work.
From the evening of August 16 to 18, the 15 fire rescue stations and 6 small stations under the Daxing District Fire Rescue Detachment maintained a 24-hour standby status, and organized 11 inspection teams to carry out fire safety night inspections on major traffic roads and key areas, reminding units to strengthen the management of fire, electricity and gas use, and reminding citizens to pay attention to household fire prevention work.
The brigade mobilized more than 3,000 community defense and control forces in various streets and towns, and more than 300 village (community) micro fire stations to carry out on-duty patrols at major intersections and clean up combustibles. Each community micro fire station is equipped with a set of fire extinguishers at each point, and implements guard and other work measures at key points in the jurisdiction.
In addition, the Daxing District Fire Rescue Brigade also prompted community property management units to post reminder leaflets to remind residents not to burn paper money and incense in the community and on the streets, especially to strengthen patrols of internal community roads to ensure fire safety during the "Zhongyuan Festival."
