Shenzhen News Network, August 18, 2024 (Shenzhen Business Daily Chief Reporter Dong Si) In the past two years, the emerging fashion item knitted body-shaping pants (shark pants) (hereinafter referred to as "shark pants") has become popular all over the Internet. Due to its excellent design and functionality, it is deeply favored by fitness enthusiasts and fashion gurus. Do shark pants really have the effect of "shaping and slimming"? Will it be stuffy to wear in summer? Will it fade during wearing?
In order to respond to consumers' concerns and guide quality consumption, the Shenzhen Consumer Council and the Macau Consumer Council recently conducted a comparative test on shark pants products on the market. This comparative test involved 25 shark pants samples, which were purchased online and offline by the Consumer Council staff of Shenzhen and Macau as ordinary consumers, including SIN SIN, misswiss, Maoren, Jiaoxia, Langsha, Jerry Mock, Chengbei, Gedi, Semir, Magic Weiwei, Bananain, Youkeshu, Aomini, Yu Zhaolin, Bonas, OhSunny, ubras, Mengbadi, Peacebird, TEENIE WEENIE, bossini, Nike, MUJI, adidas, lululemon, etc. A total of 25 brands, with prices ranging from 30 yuan to 792 yuan, were evaluated in three aspects: performance, chemical safety, and fiber content.
The test results showed that 9 samples had good overall performance and were rated five stars. They are samples from the brands PEACEBIRD, lululemon, SIN SIN, Magic Weiwei, Youkeshu, TEENIE WEENIE, ubras, Yu Zhaolin, and bossini.
It is worth noting that the durability label of the Langsha brand sample clearly states that the fabric composition is 74% nylon and 26% spandex, but the actual test results are 93.2% polyester and 6.8% spandex (excluding ingredients). The fiber name marked on the product does not match the actual fibers contained in the product, and the fiber content deviation exceeds the prescribed tolerance range.
Based on the results of this test, the Shenzhen and Macau Consumer Councils remind consumers to pay attention to the fabric composition when purchasing such products. Currently, most shark pants on the market are made of nylon and spandex. The nine samples that received a five-star rating in this comparative test are also made of this type of fabric. A small number of shark pants are made of polyester and spandex. Nylon fibers are wear-resistant and durable, and polyester fibers have good wrinkle resistance. Consumers can choose according to their needs.
In addition, attention should also be paid to the spandex content. Shark pants, as tight-fitting clothing, should have a certain degree of elasticity, so that consumers can wear them comfortably and the product is not easily deformed. Spandex is an indispensable elastic fiber for shark pants. Within a certain range and under the same conditions, the higher the spandex content, the greater the elasticity of the fabric. For consumers who pursue better comfort and body shaping effects, it is recommended to choose shark pants with a spandex content of 10% or more. At the same time, do not blindly pursue brands. The prices of the 25 shark pants samples in this comparative test vary greatly, ranging from 30 yuan to 792 yuan. In different price ranges, there are products with good overall performance. Consumers have more choices and can choose according to their own economic situation, without blindly pursuing brands and prices.
