On August 16, Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone and ZF Group signed a cooperation agreement. ZF Group will further deepen its strategic layout in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, build a new chassis solutions division's automotive brake product line upgrade project, and provide advanced active safety products to customers in Asia Pacific and even the world.

ZF Group is a world-renowned automotive parts supplier, with products covering automotive chassis systems, chassis components, safety technology, electronic devices and sensor technology. In 2011, ZF Group invested in Wuhan Economic Development Zone. After 13 years of development, the business scope of ZF Wuhan Factory has expanded to the research and development, production and sales of passenger car chassis systems, braking systems and occupant safety systems. Last year, ZF established the Asia-Pacific airbag production base and R&D center in Wuhan Economic Development Zone, and officially put it into production in April this year.

The ZF Chassis Solutions Division's brake product line upgrade project signed this time will expand the original production capacity of electronic parking calipers for automotive brake systems and develop new technology products such as line-controlled brake calipers. The project is expected to be put into production in 2025. After reaching full production, the annual production capacity of electronic parking calipers will double to 12 million pieces, and the production capacity of wire-controlled brake calipers will reach 2 million pieces.

At the signing ceremony, Wang Runyi, executive vice president of ZF Group, president of China, and president of Asia Pacific operations, said that relying on the automotive industry agglomeration effect of China Auto Valley, ZF will give full play to its technological advantages and innovation capabilities, achieve an optimal combination of talents, supply chain and industrial chain, and provide strong support for the cluster development of Wuhan's automotive industry.

"ZF Wuhan Plant is one of ZF's important brake and vacuum booster production bases in the Asia-Pacific region. In the next few years, the Wuhan Plant is expected to introduce a new generation of brake products and provide more advanced brake-by-wire products to passenger car customers in Asia-Pacific and even the world." Yang Hongjie, Vice President of ZF Group's Braking Product Line in Asia Pacific, introduced.

It is understood that ZF Wuhan Plant will focus on providing brakes for new energy customers and continuously increase the proportion of Wuhan Plant in the new energy vehicle market. At the same time, it will steadily promote the digital factory transformation and continuously improve production efficiency and quality control level.
