Guangdong and Jiangsu have long been among the top two economic provinces in my country, and were also the first regions to implement reform and opening up. After so many years of development, although the two places are comparable in economic aggregate, a careful comparison reveals that the difference is actually very large.

Differences in geographical conditions

Guangdong is located in the south of China, bordering the South China Sea to the east, the Pearl River Estuary to the west, Hunan and Guangxi to the north, Fujian to the northeast, and Hong Kong and Macao to the south. Although Guangdong is mountainous inland, it has a coastline of more than 2,600 kilometers, rich fishery resources, and excellent port conditions, such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, etc. These ports receive international cargo from the Strait of Malacca, continuously contributing fresh blood to commercial development.

Jiangsu has a flat terrain, fertile land, mild climate, and is suitable for the growth of crops. It is one of the most important agricultural bases in my country. Its main agricultural products include rice, wheat, cotton, rapeseed, etc. In addition, Jiangsu has abundant water resources such as the Yangtze River and the Huai River. The developed water system provides convenience for Jiangsu's water transportation and agricultural irrigation.
