On August 15, the 2024 China Wuxi "Taihu Cup" International Elite Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (Chongqing Division) kicked off in Chongqing Liangjiang Collaborative Innovation Zone, and 29 high-quality projects competed on site.

According to reports, this competition is jointly sponsored by Wuxi Municipal Party Committee Talent Office, Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Liangxi District Party Committee and District Government. Since the launch of the competition, the competition has attracted 800 projects to sign up for the Chongqing competition through the wide distribution of "hero invitations". After qualification review and preliminary selection, 29 high-quality projects with high talent level, strong innovation ability and broad market prospects were finally selected to enter the semi-finals, including 5 projects led by academicians, which is the highest in history. In addition, there are also spacecraft projects, satellite-borne laser communication terminal projects and other investment attraction industrial projects participating in the competition, and the projects are full of gold content.
At the competition site, the organizer invited experts and professors from universities, heads of investment and financing institutions, etc. to serve as judges, and scored the projects based on the project's technological advancement, innovation, and driving effect on the optimization of the industrial structure, as well as the defense process. After fierce competition, the Ziwei Technology Spacecraft Project and the Helium Starlight Miniaturized Satellite Laser Communication Terminal Project won the first prize; 8 projects including the high-sensitivity new magnetic sensor chip won the second prize.
"The participating projects this time cover new generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials and other fields. After preliminary docking and communication in the early stage, the projects all have the intention to be implemented and developed in Liangxi." said a relevant person in charge of the organizer.
On the same day, the Chongqing Nobel Prize Two-Dimensional Materials Research Institute, led by Nobel Prize winner in Physics Professor Constantine, cooperated with Liangxi District to establish the Chongqing Nobel Prize Two-Dimensional Materials Research Institute (Liangxi) Innovation Center. It is reported that the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation around project incubation and industrial development through close docking, complementary advantages, and resource sharing, and jointly promote scientific research results to the market.

It is worth mentioning that a talent recruitment ambassador appointment ceremony was also held at the event. Three entrepreneurial mentors were appointed as "Talent Recruitment Ambassadors". They will build a bridge of cooperation between Liangxi District and Chongqing and other places in terms of industrial development and talent introduction, and attract more innovative and entrepreneurial talents to become "partners" in Liangxi's urban development.
It is reported that Liangxi District has released a series of support policies with practical contents in this "competition as a medium" to attract talents and intelligence to Chongqing. "Liangxi has deeply implemented the strategy of innovation-driven and industrially strong district, and the foundation of a 100 billion-scale urban industrial cluster is being formed, and the new momentum and vitality of the industry are being released at an accelerated pace." The relevant person in charge of Liangxi District introduced that the district has issued policies such as "Nine Financial Policies", "Nine Talent Policies" and "Nine Science and Technology Policies", with more than 100 million yuan of funds to support and promote the transformation and implementation of scientific research results.
