Independent publisher North Beach Games announced that the ocean survival game "Desert Island Survival 2" has officially begun development, and the company will also set up a new studio in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.

The new studio is led by CTO and Creative Director Sam Edwards, who previously worked at Beam Team Games and was the creator of Cast Away, and General Manager Tomáš Pšenička, who was part of Keen Software House and developed Space Engineers.

The core development team will be primarily on-site and will provide support to remote employees around the world. The studio will focus on developing and supporting survival and crafting sandbox games.

North Beach Games also plans to continue to support and expand its platform, development and publishing efforts with IP partners such as Free Range Games, developer of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, and IP provider Middle-earth Enterprise.

There is no more news about Stranded Deep 2. The previous game, Stranded Deep, received a "mostly positive" rating on Steam, but it does not support simplified Chinese. The game is priced at 70 yuan in China.
