According to CCTV News, Beijing will have a new round of heavy rainfall on August 17. The reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission that the transportation department has launched a flood prevention emergency response to ensure the safety of citizens' travel.
- For the subway, reserve vehicles are arranged and can be put into operation at any time according to changes in passenger flow to alleviate passenger flow pressure.
- For ground public transportation, additional mobile transport capacity will be allocated during the rainy season to shorten the driving intervals during the morning and afternoon low peaks and evening peaks. In view of the characteristics of summer passenger flow, we will focus on ensuring transportation around key areas such as scenic spots, as well as around railway stations and long-distance bus stations. At the same time, we will take detours, skip stations and stop driving measures in a timely manner according to changes in road waterlogging, and restore the original route as soon as the water dissipates. In addition, we will strengthen the monitoring of rain conditions and roads on mountainous routes, take corresponding measures according to rainfall and road conditions, and widely release travel guidance to facilitate citizens to adjust their travel arrangements.
- In terms of road traffic, we closely monitor the waterlogging points on roads and potential geological disasters along highways during the main flood season this year, and deploy flood prevention forces in advance. In view of the safety risks brought about by the increase in weekend travel in mountainous areas, we comprehensively strengthen the prevention and response to geological disasters along highways, and take closure measures in advance with the traffic control department for sections of roads with signs of landslides and falling rocks, and deal with emergencies in a timely and scientific manner to prevent secondary disasters.
