On August 16, the Dongguan Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce held the third "Chaozhou Talents, China's Future" Dongguan Chaozhou Merchants Guangji Charity Fund Scholarship Award Ceremony, awarding trophies and scholarships to outstanding Chaozhou students in Dongguan who achieved excellent college entrance examination results. The ceremony conveyed the Chamber of Commerce's care and concern for Chaozhou children in Dongguan, promoted Chaozhou's excellent cultural traditions, and expressed expectations and blessings.
The ceremony was attended by more than 80 people including Honorary President of Dongguan Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Dongguan Chaozhou Merchants Guangji Charity Fund Lin Riqiang, President of Dongguan Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce Chen Gang, Supervisor of Dongguan Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce Huang Weiran, Executive Vice President and Vice Chairman of Dongguan Chaozhou Merchants Guangji Charity Fund Xu Yuhua, Executive Vice Presidents Cai Zengquan and Wu Chengrui, Party Branch Secretary Chen Qin and other Chamber of Commerce leaders, as well as outstanding Chaozhou students and parents. The event was hosted by Deputy Secretary-General Chen Haibin.
Lin Riqiang said that the establishment of the "scholarship" project by the Dongguan Chaozhou Merchants Guangji Charity Fund is a concern and encouragement for the academic performance of Chaozhou students in Dongguan. It also hopes that through the scholarship, the children can feel the warmth of their hometown people.
Xu Yuhua introduced the program of this scholarship activity. A total of 36 outstanding students from Chaozhou in Dongguan will be awarded, including 4 students admitted to universities ranked in the top 50 in the world (QS) and 985 Project universities; 9 students admitted to national 211 Project universities; 2 students admitted to double first-class universities; and 21 students admitted to full-time undergraduate universities.
Chen Gang, president of Dongguan Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce, expressed his hope that students would strengthen their physical fitness and have a healthy body and a healthy mind in their lives, and work hard, strive for progress, forge ahead courageously, become more courageous with each setback, never admit defeat, and never give up; they should have a benevolent and filial heart, be a grateful person, and after achieving academic success, become useful members of the society, give back to the society, and serve the motherland.
It is reported that the Dongguan Chaozhou Chamber of Commerce was established on September 9, 2021. The Chamber of Commerce has actively played its role, cared about the academic performance of Chaozhou students in Dongguan, promoted scholarships and student aid, and carried out public welfare and charity activities to realize the dream of student aid. It has been warmly welcomed and praised by Chaozhou people in Dongguan. So far, it has awarded scholarships to 99 students. Chaozhou is a place of outstanding people and talents. The Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships to outstanding talents in Chaozhou to encourage Chaozhou students, bring honor to Chaozhou people, and make more contributions to the country.
