On August 15, the main event of the 2024 National Ecological Day was held in Sanming City, Fujian Province. During the main event, the National Development and Reform Commission, together with relevant departments and localities, held a press conference on important achievements in ecological civilization and an exchange meeting on ecological civilization construction experience.
At the press conference on important achievements in ecological civilization, Zhao Chenxin, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, released important achievements in accelerating the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development; Zhuang Shaoqin, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources, released important achievements in the integration and innovation of urban planning and land policies; Guo Fang, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, released important achievements in the reform of the ecological environment zoning management system; Zhu Chengqing, deputy minister of the Ministry of Water Resources, released important achievements in the soil and water conservation work in the new era led by the experience of Changting in soil and water loss control; Ma Youxiang, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, released important achievements in the ten-year fishing ban in the Yangtze River; Tang Fanglin, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, released important achievements in the reform of China's collective forest rights system; Xu Xiao, executive secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and chairman of the All-China Youth Federation, released important achievements in the "Beautiful China Youth Action"; Yang Linping, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy president of the Supreme People's Court, released important achievements in the tenth anniversary of environmental and resource trials in Chinese courts; Lin Wenbin, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy governor of the Fujian Provincial People's Government, released important achievements in the 25-year construction of Fujian Ecological Province and the Sanming Initiative for National Ecological Day in 2024. At the experience exchange meeting on ecological civilization construction, local representatives shared their experiences and exchanged ideas in two phases, which were hosted by the responsible person of the Environmental Protection Department of the National Development and Reform Commission and the responsible person of China Development and Reform Newspaper respectively.
The first phase was an exchange of experiences in national ecological civilization demonstration zones. Wang Zhong, deputy director of the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Liu Bing, deputy director of the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Li Liguo, deputy director of the Guizhou Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and Mao Dongli, director of the Hainan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, introduced the experiences and practices in deepening the construction of national ecological civilization demonstration zones.
The second stage was the exchange of experience on the national carbon peak pilot and the establishment of a sound mechanism for realizing the value of ecological products. Lu Jian, Executive Vice Mayor of Chengde City, Hebei Province, Cui Yuanbin, Executive Vice Mayor of Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, Liu Fengyun, Vice Mayor of Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Gou Fengcheng, Executive Vice Mayor of Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, and Chen Jie, Executive Vice Mayor of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province exchanged experiences on the construction of the national carbon peak pilot. Sun Xudong, Deputy Commissioner of the Daxinganling Prefecture Administrative Office of Heilongjiang Province, Liu Ming, Vice Mayor of Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, Yang Xingzhong, Deputy Secretary of the Sanming Municipal Party Committee of Fujian Province, Yu Shengtao, Executive Vice Mayor of Yantai City, Shandong Province, and Zhao Jing, Secretary of the Shangluo Municipal Party Committee of Shaanxi Province exchanged experiences on the establishment of a sound mechanism for realizing the value of ecological products.
