August 15th is "National Ecological Day". Jingshan Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing, in conjunction with the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing Forestry University, and Sanzheng Social Work Office, launched the "Sharing Xinglin Culture and Building Micro-landscape Homes" activity. The activity is based on the green, low-carbon, environmentally friendly and healing ideas, and the street "Micro Garden Demonstration Center" is used as the construction basis, combining garbage classification, low-carbon concepts and traditional Chinese medicine culture.

Jingshan Street invited residents to participate in interactive games on garbage classification. Through games such as the big turntable and hopscotch, residents mastered the knowledge of garbage classification and deepened their understanding of the importance of garbage classification.
Jingshan Subdistrict, as a pilot block for the construction of a garden city in Dongcheng District, will realize the expectation of "people walking out feel like they are in their own garden" by creating urban green life experiences such as gardens, flower paths, and flower views. Professor Hou Xiaolei of the Central Academy of Fine Arts introduced that it is planned to build the back street of the art museum into a "Chinese herbal medicine low-carbon healing theme street" to create a garden city demonstration block with Jingshan characteristics and healthy life. Hou Xiaolei's team of teachers and students also brought a seedling knowledge lecture to the residents and initiated a seedling cultivation activity to discover and cultivate a group of "seed" volunteers for the garden city.
A team of teachers and students from Beijing Forestry University focused on the theme of "Common Chinese herbal healing plants and aromatic plants in Beijing" and, through explanations and demonstrations, allowed residents to understand the efficacy and medicinal value of common Chinese herbal medicines such as honeysuckle, lavender, and mint.
Sanzheng Social Work Office takes "zero waste" as its activity concept, uses recyclable materials such as old vegetable baskets as planting containers, and combines organic fertilizers produced by the ecological composting science park of the Imperial City Ruins Park to lead residents and university teachers and students to plant Chinese herbal medicines on site. At the same time, it also guides residents to start from their daily lives, reduce garbage output, and maximize the use of resources.
