The publisher of the Switch version of "LEGO Horizon Adventure" was announced today. It is not Sony, but Solutions 2 Go, a video game publisher and global distributor from the Toronto area of Canada.
This means that Sony will not be involved in the distribution of the Switch version, and the game will be distributed by Solutions 2 Go on the eShop and in physical stores.
Rob Cleva, Vice President of Global Publishing at Solutions 2 Go, said: “We are very excited to be working with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring LEGO Horizon Adventures to Nintendo Switch worldwide. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to providing high-quality entertainment experiences to retail consumers around the world.”
"LEGO Horizon Adventure" was originally a new work in the Horizon series exclusive to Sony, but it was chosen to be released on the competitor platform Switch, and Sony was not responsible for the distribution itself. The reason behind this may be that Sony hopes to promote "LEGO Horizon Adventure" to a wider group of players. The Switch platform has a huge user base of all ages, which will help expand the influence of the Horizon IP and attract more players.
Lego Horizon Adventures will be released later this year.
