IT Home reported on August 16 that Apple began to remind developers on Thursday local time that a change is about to take place in the EU App Store. From October 16, 2024, EU app “traders” must provide updated email and phone number data and display it to every user who visits the EU App Store.

According to the EU Digital Services Act (DSA),When developers earn any income from their app, they are considered traders. This includes not only direct revenue from App Store sales, but also in-app purchases or advertising revenue. In other words, only developers of free apps without ads don’t have to provide such information.

  • For individual developers, DSA requires EU App Store apps to provide the developer's address or email address, phone number, and email address.

  • For corporate developers, only a phone number and email address are required.Users can find this information below the description of each billable app in the App Store.

From October 16, 2024, every eligible Apple app developer in the EU market must provide their trader details before submitting new apps or app updates to the App Store.February 17, 2025Traders who have not previously provided Apple with details will have their apps removed from the EU App Store.
