Russia announces creation of military security coordination committee for border regions
According to CCTV News on August 16, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on August 15 local time that:Russian Defense Minister Belousov issued an order to establish a military security coordination committee for the border areas of Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk Oblasts.
The Coordination Committee is composed of the Deputy Minister of Defense, the head of the military management agency, the General Staff representative and the governors of the three Russian border states. The Coordination Committee does not manage the operations of the troops, which are the responsibility of the "Northern" Troop Group Command and the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
