On August 14, a special session on the achievements of high-quality development of Beijing’s state-owned assets and state-owned enterprises was held as part of the series of themed press conferences “Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of New China”.
Zhang Jinling, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, deputy director, first-level inspector and spokesperson of Beijing State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, introduced that at present, there are 45 first-level municipal enterprises and 8,603 enterprises of all levels supervised by Beijing State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, with a total number of employees of more than 1 million. In the first half of this year, the state-owned economy continued to recover and improve, and the revenue and profit of municipal enterprises achieved double-digit growth year-on-year. Among the 12 GDP support indicators, 9 outperformed the overall market.
Municipal state-owned enterprises undertake 40% of the city's key projects each year
Data shows that by the end of 2023, the main economic indicators of municipal-managed enterprises have doubled compared with the end of 2012, among which, operating income increased by 1.6 times (from 846.48 billion yuan at the end of 2012 to 2.2 trillion yuan); total profit quadrupled (from 40.46 billion yuan at the end of 2012 to 156.9 billion yuan), with a total tax payment of 1.2 trillion yuan and state-owned capital income of 57.405 billion yuan. In terms of the comprehensive strength of enterprises, by the end of 2023, the total assets and operating income of 8 enterprises will both exceed 100 billion yuan, and 2 enterprises will enter the Fortune Global 500. Municipal state-owned enterprises undertake about 40% of the city's key projects each year, and a number of landmark projects such as the Daxing International Airport and the "Ice Ribbon" that they participated in the construction have been successfully completed.
It is worth mentioning that Beijing's state-owned enterprises have also contributed to the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. Zhang Jinling introduced that since the launch of the special action of "decongestion, rectification and promotion", Beijing's state-owned enterprises have completed more than 1,640 projects of various types, covering an area of more than 13.8 million square meters. In terms of the construction of Xiongan New Area, 17 Beijing-managed enterprises have invested in nearly 100 projects in Xiongan New Area.
