"Black storks often live in this area of water, so let's take a water sample first." On the morning of August 14, on the banks of the Juma River in Qidu, Fangshan, the newly established environmental protection volunteer service team conducted a joint inspection of the living environment of black storks, and went into the Black Stork Conservation Area to carry out the volunteer service team's first legal education activity.
"Violating hunting regulations, hunting with prohibited tools in prohibited areas and during prohibited periods, and destroying wildlife resources, will constitute the crime of illegal hunting if the circumstances are serious." "Citizens should actively rescue rare wild animals after discovering them. Even if the rare animals are dead, they should be promptly handed over to relevant agencies for study and disposal." At the legal education event, the environmental protection volunteer service team patiently explained the legal norms for wildlife protection to local villagers, and encouraged villagers to participate in ecological environmental protection.

It is understood that the Shidu area in Fangshan is the main wintering ground for black storks. The black stork is a national first-class protected animal and is listed as an endangered species by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. In 2014, the China Wildlife Conservation Association awarded Fangshan District in Beijing the title of "Hometown of Chinese Black Storks".
