"You cannot park electric bicycles in evacuation corridors, stairwells, or safety exits..." The supervisory law enforcement officer of the Economic Development Zone Fire Rescue Brigade told resident Song. Song parked his electric bicycle at the safety exit of the underground garage. The law enforcement officer issued a correction notice on the spot and asked him to make corrections immediately, but Song ignored the hidden dangers and refused to make corrections. The law enforcement officer decided to impose an administrative penalty of 850 yuan on Song on the spot.
According to law enforcement officers, Article 37 of the Regulations on Fire Safety Management of High-rise Civil Buildings clearly stipulates that it is prohibited to park or charge electric bicycles in public foyers, evacuation corridors, stairwells, and emergency exits of high-rise civil buildings.
The fire department of the Economic Development Zone reminds citizens that evacuation passages and emergency exits are important life passages in the event of a fire. No unit or individual can occupy or block evacuation passages, lock emergency exits, or park electric bicycles in evacuation passages, emergency exits, or stairwells. Once an electric bicycle catches fire, it will burn quickly and ignite surrounding combustibles, accompanied by explosions, high-temperature smoke, and toxic fumes.
