Dmitry Lubinets, the human rights commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine, revealed that the Ukrainian army has established a buffer zone in the occupied areas of Kursk Oblast and needs to ensure the supply of food, medicine and other key supplies to civilians living in the buffer zone.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian army repelled six rounds of attacks by the Ukrainian army in the border area of ​​Kursk Oblast. The Russian Aerospace Forces launched air strikes on the Ukrainian army's reserve forces in several settlements in Sumy Oblast. In the past day, the Russian army killed and wounded 270 Ukrainian military personnel, captured 18 Ukrainian soldiers, and destroyed 2 tanks, 1 armored personnel carrier and 13 other types of armored vehicles.

Since August 6, the Russian army has been digging trenches in the south of Lgov in Kursk Oblast. The trenches in satellite photos have taken shape on August 12.
