After one year on the market, the Huawei Mate60, which had maintained a strong price, has seen a price reduction.

On August 15, Huawei Terminal announced on Weibo that the Huawei Mate60 series has started its autumn promotion, with a maximum discount of 800 yuan.

Huawei's official website shows that the original starting price of the Mate60 standard version was 5,499 yuan, which was reduced by 500 yuan and is now 4,999 yuan; the original starting price of the Mate60 Pro was 6,499 yuan, which was reduced by 800 yuan and is now 5,699 yuan; the original starting price of the Mate60 Pro+ was 8,999 yuan, which was reduced by 800 yuan and is now 8,199 yuan.

Since its release, the market popularity of Huawei Mate60 series has continued to rise. It is understood that Huawei Mate60 series launched the Pioneer Plan in August 2023, and it became so popular in China that it was "hard to find a phone" after its release. It is reported that when Huawei Mate60 Pro went on sale, it attracted consumers to buy it with its high configuration. For example, this product is the world's first mass smartphone that supports satellite calls, the first second-generation Kunlun glass, and is connected to the Pangu AI large model.

At that time, according to multiple media reports, Huawei stores in many cities across the country had long queues, and online, the Mate60 series was quickly sold out after the scheduled release. According to Canalys data, Huawei shipped 10.4 million units in the fourth quarter of 2023, a year-on-year increase of 47%. Canalys said that the Mate60 Pro has become the leading model that has driven Huawei's shipment recovery through its self-developed Kirin chip and innovative features such as satellite calls.

Last month, Huawei launched several discounts for its models. On July 18, Huawei officially announced that the entire Huawei Pura 70 series will be offering limited-time discounts, with a 1,000 yuan discount on the Pura 70 Ultra, priced from 8,999 yuan; a 500 yuan discount on the Pura 70, now priced from 4,999 yuan. In addition, the Pura 70 Pro and Pura 70 Pro+ will be reduced by 800 yuan.

On April 15, Huawei's official Weibo account released several videos about the Huawei P series and announced that the Huawei P series was officially upgraded to "Huawei Pura". It is understood that the Mate series and the P series have always been the representatives of Huawei's flagship phones. The Mate series is mainly aimed at high-end business people and has strong comprehensive performance, while the P series is mainly aimed at photography enthusiasts and continues to make technological breakthroughs in the field of photography.

Recently, market research firm TechInsights published an article stating that driven by the recovery of the 5G field and the easing of supply chain restrictions, Huawei's global smartphone shipments will increase by 49% year-on-year to 11.6 million units in the second quarter of 2024. At the same time, due to the large proportion of high-end models (Mate and Pura series combination), its wholesale average selling price (ASP) and wholesale revenue both hit record highs. The Chinese market remains Huawei's core market, accounting for 89% of its global smartphone shipments.

The latest mobile phone quarterly tracking report released by IDC on July 26 shows that in the second quarter of 2024, China's smartphone market shipments will be about 71.58 million units, an increase of 8.9% year-on-year, continuing its growth momentum. Huawei ranked second in the second quarter after being tied for first in the Chinese market in the first quarter of 2024. In the first half of 2024, Huawei ranked first in China's smartphone market shipments with a market share of 17.5%.

Data shows that Huawei's share in the Chinese smartphone market has recovered rapidly since its return at the end of August 2023. IDC pointed out in a related report for the first quarter of 2024 that its Mate60 series continued to be in short supply, and the nova 12 series accounted for one-third of Huawei's shipments in the first quarter.
