In addition, there is other online information showing that the incident occurred on August 10, and the cause of the incident was that "the sewage manhole cover in the community was opened, and the owner reported it to the property management for more than ten hours, but the property management did not go to repair it, and there were no warning signs, which led to two people, one adult and one child, falling into the well and drowning."

Red Star News reporters contacted the person who posted the video several times, but no response was received as of press time.

On the afternoon of August 14, a Red Star News reporter asked the property management of the community about this matter in the capacity of a citizen. A staff member said that there was a special person in charge of this incident and they were not in a position to disclose the specific details.

According to Jimu News, the property staff of the community confirmed that the incident had occurred. The two people who fell into the sewage well have both died. The police have intervened. After the incident, all manhole covers in the community have been checked. As for how the two people fell in, the staff member said he didn't know, "but it rained heavily a few days ago."

An insider said that the two people who fell were mother and son. Someone had previously discovered the problem with the manhole cover and notified the property management, but the property management did not set up any warning signs.

On the afternoon of August 14, a staff member of the Publicity Department of Gu'an County Party Committee told Red Star News that the incident was being handled. A staff member of the Gu'an County Emergency Management Bureau said that the matter had been reported to the leadership, but he was not clear about the specific situation.

The head of the Peacock Lake Community, to which the neighborhood belongs, told the Red Star News reporter that it was not convenient to disclose this incident and suggested that the reporter learn about the matter from other official channels.
