In order to tackle the "bottleneck" problems in the construction of smart medical examinations and accelerate the transformation and implementation of innovative results of medical examination artificial intelligence (AI), on August 14, 2024, the 2024 "Yujian Cup" Medical Examination Artificial Intelligence Developer Competition was officially launched under the guidance of the Guangzhou Science and Technology Bureau and co-organized by Guangzhou KingMed Medical Testing Group Co., Ltd. and Tencent Healthcare (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.
This year marks the third consecutive year that KingMed Diagnostics has held the "Yujian Cup". The first two events attracted more than 1,600 teams from around the world to participate, with nearly 7,000 entries submitted, making it one of the most eye-catching events for AI innovation in the domestic medical testing industry.
Starting from the technical difficulties in the application of smart medical examination, this year's competition focuses on key application scenarios such as rare disease diagnosis, and launches 6 competition questions to attract developers from all walks of life to form teams to take the lead. The competition lasts for one year, and the winner can receive a prize of up to 100,000 yuan. He will also have the opportunity to cooperate with KingMed Diagnostics in data mining, artificial intelligence algorithm research and development, application promotion, etc., to accelerate the formation of new quality productivity in the industry.

It is reported that with the continuous advancement of artificial intelligence technology represented by large models, the performance of medical examination AI in disease auxiliary diagnosis, inspection process optimization, and intelligent interpretation of results has been improved. However, due to factors such as low data standardization, high requirements for explainability and accuracy, and scarcity of cross-disciplinary professional talents, medical examination AI still faces many "bottleneck" problems.
"The six questions of this year's 'Yujian Cup' were selected by KingMed Diagnostics from the pain points of the industry they discovered, covering major scenario needs such as rare disease diagnosis, pathological diagnosis, drug development, and multimodal data mining," said Li Yinghua, vice president of KingMed Diagnostics and general manager of the Digital Management Center. Especially in the field of intelligent auxiliary diagnosis of rare diseases, many developers are "daunted" due to the small amount of trainable data and unclear diagnosis and treatment pathways. "We hope to attract more attention through the form of 'unveiling the list and appointing the leader'."
Contestants can choose any of the six questions to challenge, and the organizer will evaluate the entries from the aspects of feasibility, practicality, innovation, etc. After the works are confirmed on site, the winners can receive a prize of up to 100,000 yuan.
