Through rope skipping and recitation competitions, the students felt the joy of exercise in sweat and enjoyed the fun of reading in the fragrance of books.
Led by their class teacher Lu Yanping, the students dressed in light sportswear and gathered on campus with anticipation. In the one-minute rope skipping competition, everyone formed a group of two and competed face to face. "Ready—go!" With the referee's order, the participating students instantly entered the state, the ropes in their hands drew beautiful arcs in the air, and their steps were light and powerful. The students watching stared at every moment on the field, counting the number in unison to the rhythm, and cheering for the participating students.
Next was the recitation competition, and the book used for the competition was the class summer reading list "Things about Chinese Characters". The students took turns to go on stage to draw a reading topic, and then returned to their seats to practice independently. The sound of reading filled the whole classroom. The students took turns to go to the podium, holding the book in their hands, and told the story of the origin, evolution and cultural connotation of Chinese characters in the book with a correct posture, loud voice and clear pronunciation.
Guo Muyan said: "Today's activities are very interesting. They not only improve our reading and expression skills, but also allow me to deeply understand the unique cultural value of Chinese characters."
