At 9 a.m., the reporter was at the construction site, and the outdoor temperature was as high as 40 degrees. "The temperature has dropped a bit today. It was 10 degrees higher some time ago, so we will avoid working during the hottest period." Master Gao, a construction worker, raised his shoulder and wiped the sweat with a towel. According to the construction time arranged by the project owner's project department, the personnel avoided the high temperature period from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; all participating units fully guaranteed the supply of ice water, mung bean soup, watermelon and other materials, and provided enough anti-heat medicines such as Ren Dan and Huoxiang Zhengqi water; strengthened humanistic care at the construction site, kept abreast of the difficulties of high-temperature operations, adjusted the operation methods at any time, and made every effort to promote the progress of the project construction.

With the efforts of more than 900 construction workers on site, the converter station has successively completed key construction tasks such as the bipolar low-end firewall, the capping of the main control building 35 kV station power supply, and the regional standardization construction of 500 kV GIS (Note: power information system). The person in charge of the site told reporters that the first installation of important electrical equipment is about to be carried out, marking the full entry of the project into the electrical installation stage. This is the last stop of the project construction, and it can be put into operation after completion.

As the receiving end converter station of the Jinshang-Hubei UHV DC project, the converter station is the end point of Hubei Province's second "external power into Hubei" UHV clean energy channel, and is also a key project of the national "West-to-East Power Transmission" energy strategy. The project will directly supply Jinsha River clean energy to the Hubei East load center, effectively promoting the social and economic development of Hubei, and is of great significance to the optimization of power resources allocation on a large scale across the country.
